Is There An Elite Offensive Tackle Available For The Bengals?

The NFL already knows there is not a dominant Tackle class at all in the draft aside from Connor Williams. The only upgrade at Tackle in free agency is Nate Solder of the New England Patriots. His last contract was a two-year just over 20 million and almost all of it guaranteed and is expected to go an average of 15 million a year which is totally out of reach for the Bengals. The only other Offensive Tackle that could make a splash is the OT Cordy Glenn from the Buffalo Bills.

Cordy Glenn was on the trade block earlier last season but never got a good offer. The OT has missed 16 games in last 2 years due to injury but he should be healthy by the seasons start. Expect a trade or a release from the Bills before the second day of the league year. After that point they would have to owe Glenn 6.5 million almost all guaranteed and a 2 million roster bonus. Trade or release before that and they wont have to pay any costs. Cordy Glenn has 2 more years and 14.7 million that would be off the Bills books for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Is an injury prone OT worth 15 million? He never had a chance to get healthy but he is scheduled to be healthy by the start of the season. The Bengals need to be active in trades also in the off-season. As a trade i would give a 3rd and 4th in 2019 draft. He isn’t worth a pick this year. Our next years needs are not in good class next draft season in 2019.

This is the best way to get an Offensive Tackle especially if he is healthy. Tell me what you think in the comments.
